We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to be responsible for leading and managing all safety functions for industrial construction and maintenance operations across our project sites.

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to be responsible for leading and managing all safety functions for industrial construction and maintenance operations across our project sites. The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and managing all safety functions for industrial construction and maintenance operations across our project sites. This role provides direct field leadership, ensures compliance with OSHA and client-specific safety requirements (refineries, terminals, petrochemical facilities, etc.), and drives a strong safety culture aligned with operational excellence.

 

The Safety Manager serves as a key liaison between field operations, executive leadership, and client safety representatives to ensure safe, compliant, and incident-free project execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

 Field Leadership & Oversight
  • Provide active, visible safety leadership across multiple industrial job sites.
  • Conduct routine field audits, behavioral observations, and compliance inspections.
  • Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to proactively identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Participate in pre-job planning meetings and review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Lift Plans.
  • Monitor high-risk activities including:
    • Confined space entry
    • Hot work
    • Working at heights
    • Critical lifts and crane operations
    • Excavation and trenching
    • Lockout/Tagout
    • Silica exposure and respiratory protection

Safety Compliance Expectations:

I – Client & Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations.
    • Maintain alignment with refinery and terminal client safety standards and permit systems.
    • Serve as primary contact for client safety personnel and third-party auditors.
    • Support and prepare sites for client audits and regulatory inspections.
II – Incident Prevention & Investigation:
    • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
    • Track and trend safety performance metrics (TRIR, DART, EMR, near misses).
    • Develop action plans to address recurring hazards or at-risk behaviors.
    • Oversee return-to-work and injury management processes.
III – Training & Workforce Development:
    • Deliver and coordinate safety training including:
      • Fall protection
      • Confined space
      • Hazard communication
      • Equipment certification
      • Site-specific orientation
    • Mentor site safety representatives and field leadership.
    • Promote safety engagement programs and positive recognition initiatives.
IV – Program Development & Documentation:
    • Develop and update corporate safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
    • Maintain training records, permits, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
    • Support bid proposals with safety statistics and program documentation.
    • Assist with safety program development for new project mobilizations.
